Man Fishing

To collect data we use the a site called iNaturalist. It allows for the entry of animals and plants that you see in nature, as well as help in identifying them.

We ask that you to enter your catch data onto iNaturalist. Data we ask you submit is below. Any salmonid picture, from 2000 to present, would be accepted in this project! INaturalist also allows submitted entries to be obscured! Allowing us to see the general area you choose but not your secret fishing spots!

To submit your catch simply make a new observation, add your finding, and if its with in Hokkaido it will then be added to study automatically!

Plus, It has both a web page and an app. So you can use it at home or out on the river bank fishing!

Additionally, you can submit data directly to this sites email, "troutofhokkaido@gmail.com" Just include approximant GPS coordinates, the species, and the date caught.

Also, we are conducting a social science poll, looking to know what people think of these salmonids!
You do not need to submit a catch on iNaturalist to fill this form out!

Please fill out this google questionnaire (only once per person, please). This questionnaire will be kept private and your answers will not be shared. (questions will be basic: age, gender, place from, what you think of these fishes, etc…)

Thank you!
